1. Select Scenario and Media.
Select a land use scenario(s) under the "Select Scenario" list.
Select one or more media to assess under the "Select Media" list.
2. Select Chemicals Data Source.
There are two choices: "Defaults" and "Site Specific".
"Database hierarchy defaults" - calculations will be performed using default toxicity values. Users can still edit exposure parameters at the next window.
"User-provided" - this option allows editing of toxicity values and chemical-specific parameters after clicking "Retrieve (new tab)" at the bottom of the form.
3. Select RfD/RfC Type.
Select Chronic or Subchronic for RfD/RfC Type.
Chronic selection will retrieve Chronic-only RfDs/RfCs; Subchronic selection will first retrieve subchronic values (where possible) and then use chronic values.
4. Select Chemicals of Interest.
Select individual Chemicals of Interest by first clicking in the box. Then either scroll through the list or type the chemical name/CAS number. Click on the highlighted name to add it to the list. To add a chemical that is not in the list, type the name of the chemical and click the add button.
Select an entire category of chemicals by clicking one or more options in the "Or Select by Category" list.
5. Display Risk/HI Output in Percentage.
This option helps indentify the chemical(s) driving the risk. If selected, results based on percentage will be displayed in a table after the risk/HI results. See the full user guide for more information.
6. Click "Retrieve (new tab)".
After clicking "Retrieve (new tab)" for "Database hierarchy defaults", enter media concentrations and edit any default exposure parameters at the next page.
If "User-provided" was selected in step 2, edit necessary exposure parameters, default toxicity values, and chemical-specific parameters at the next window along with entering media concentrations.
At the bottom of this page, click "Retrieve (new tab)" for the results.
Press "Clear" on the bottom of this page to reset all parameters to default values.
7. Review and Export Results.
Input parameters and Risk/HI results for each media selected are presented.
At the top of the final page are options to "Output to XLS" and "Output to PDF".
